Riverside Art & Music Festival

In an effort to broaden its reach and make the event more accessible to a wider range of the community, the Riverside Arts Council partnered with the Riverside Downtown Partnership, integrating the former Mayor’s Ball and Summer Street Jam into the Riverside Art and Music Festival. The event features exhibits, interactive demonstrations and performances. The region’s largest fundraiser in support of the arts showcases the depth of Riverside’s art community in a fun day for the entire family.

Riverside Artswalk was launched in 2002 and takes place every first Thursday of the month to celebrate the diversity of arts and culture in the Inland Empire. The founders of this community event are two well-known local artists: Cosme Cordova, owner of Division 9 Gallery and Mark Schooley, director of Riverside Community Arts Association. Currently there are over 20 venues including art galleries, studios, museums and the library which participate each month. Artscape

The ongoing Artscape exhibition at the County Administrative Center is coordinated by the Riverside Arts Council as part of its Art in Public Places Program. The bi-annual exhibitions are designed to showcase the unique and inspiring aspects of life in Riverside County. The artwork featured can be found in the main lobby, executive office lobby and the board of supervisors lobby.

The purpose of the Artscape exhibition is to show the wide range of talented artists found within Riverside County and to illustrate how art can be inter-woven into our daily lives. The Art in Public Places Program is dedicated to taking art out of the museum and placing it where people can view it on a regular basis. The artists featured come from a variety of backgrounds, and are representative of the diversity found within the Inland Empire's population.
