The 20” X20” X20 Compact Competition was established over 20 years ago to bring contemporary art to LSU that was being produced throughout the country. Artists from all 50 states, with the exception of Alaska & Hawaii, have been active participants throughout the life of the competition. Approximately four thousand art enthusiasts over a two month period travel to the LSU Student Art Gallery each year to visit the exhibit and take in the newest works in the contemporary art world.
This juried exhibit is open to any artist residing in the United States. Artists compete for $5,000 in cash prizes. Two-dimensional works must be 20” x 20” or less. Three-dimensional works may have one side exceeding 20 inches but cannot exceed 70 pounds in weight. All forms of art media will be accepted. This year’s juror,Brooke Anderson, will award $5,000 in cash prizes.
First Place: $2,000
Second Place: $1,500
Third Place: $1,000

Please note: The art submissions need to be no larger than 20”x20”x20”. This excludes matting and framing of 2 dimensional works. Works need to be completed within the last two years. Works previously exhibited in the LSU Student Union Art Gallery are ineligible.
