The mission of the Riverside Model Deaf Community Committee is to promote unity between Riverside's deaf and hard of hearing communities and its hearing community, promoting access, advocacy, education and inclusion. The goal is to do this through hosting activities that raise awareness of the deaf and promote programs that encourage inclusion and interaction in the life of the City.
For the Riverside Model Deaf Community Committee kickoff picnic, approximately 600-900 attendees are expected, with a special appearance by Riverside's Mayor, Rusty Bailey! Festivities will include train rides on the Riverside Live Steamers, interactive Police/Fire/EMS emergency vehicle displays, music by DJ Matt Marquis, three bounce houses including a waterslide, lawn activities (such as croquette and relay races), ping-pong, and numerous activities for the little ones, including hula-hoop contests, ring and bean bag tosses, face painting. And for an added bonus, up to 50 vendors will be present!
Access to the event grounds for set up will be at 10:00 a.m., and the vendor area will be enjoyed by all from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Riverside Model Deaf Community Committee asks that you not break down before 3:30 p.m.) Due to limited space, the available spaces will be on a first-come, first-served basis and only one of each type of business will be accepted.
Each vendor will be provided with one 10' x 10' space, identification signage, company name on MDCC's website for six months, and lunch for one. Please see the enclosed document for additional information on the vendor packages.
Registration and payment in full for the event must be received by August 15, 2013.
We look forward to sharing this unique and exciting event with you!
Thank you for your time and consideration,
